How valuations Works

02

  • How accurate are the valuations?

Evaluu pulls real data from actual completed sales across major marketplaces. Valuations are based on what similar items have actually sold for — not asking prices, not estimates. Confidence levels are shown alongside every value so you know how strong the data is.

  • Where does the pricing data come from?

From completed, real-world sales across major resale marketplaces. We look at what buyers actually paid, factor in condition and recency, and weight recent sales more heavily. Asking prices are ignored — anyone can ask anything. Sold prices are what matter.

  • What does the confidence level mean?

It tells you how much sales data sits behind a value. A high confidence level means many recent, comparable sales support the number. A lower level means the data is thinner — the item may be rare, unusual, or hard to match. We'd rather show you an honest confidence level than an overconfident number.

  • How often are values updated?

It depends on your plan. Discover values refresh monthly, Build refreshes weekly, and Value refreshes daily with real-time market data. Markets move — especially for electronics, collectibles, and seasonal items — so fresher data means better decisions.

  • Can I use Evaluu values for insurance documentation?

Evaluu generates detailed, dated PDF reports with photos, descriptions, and market values for every item you've cataloged. Many users share these with their insurance provider. We recommend checking with your insurer about their specific documentation requirements.

  • Is an Evaluu valuation the same as a professional appraisal?

No, and we want to be straightforward about that. Evaluu gives you a fair market value based on real sales — ideal for everyday decisions, inventories, and selling. A certified appraisal is a formal document prepared by a licensed appraiser, sometimes required for legal matters, fine art, or high-value jewelry. For most household items, Evaluu is all you need. For the exceptions, we'll show a lower confidence level so you know when to seek one.

Plans & Billing

  • What's the difference between the plans?

Discover is free — scan and value up to 3 items. Build, at $9 a month, covers up to 50 items with weekly valuations, a net worth dashboard, and insurance-ready exports. Value, at $29 a month, adds daily valuations, AI listing generation, one-tap listing to multiple marketplaces, and profit tracking. Scale, at $99 a month, is built for estate sale companies and professional sellers with team seats and volume tools.

  • Can I switch plans at any time?

Yes. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel whenever you want. If you upgrade mid-cycle, you'll be prorated for the remainder. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at your next billing date.

  • What happens to my items if I downgrade?

Your items stay in your account. If you drop below a tier's item limit, you'll still be able to view everything — you just won't be able to add new items until you're back within the limit or upgrade again.

  • Is there a contract or commitment?

No contracts, no commitments. Monthly plans bill monthly and can be canceled anytime. Annual plans are a single payment for 12 months and offer the best per-month rate.

  • Do I need a plan just to help with one event, like an estate?

Many people use Evaluu for a single season — an estate, a move, a claim — and that's completely fine. Subscribe monthly for as long as the work takes, then cancel when it's done. Your data stays in your account, and you can export everything before you go.

  • Does Evaluu take a cut when I sell something?

No. Evaluu is a subscription — we don't take a percentage of your sales. The marketplaces where you list (like eBay or Poshmark) charge their own standard fees, and Evaluu shows you those fees up front so your profit numbers are honest.
